Influential educational resources are considered significant criteria for enhancing the quality of teaching and learning Persian language. However, it is a challenging task to design and afford the Persian language learners worldwide with appropriate instructional materials to meet their language needs. As informative instructional resources, textbooks play an essential role in Persian language programs and they can considerably motivate Persian language learners. Hence, it would be logical to evaluate the content and structure of Persian language textbooks from different perspectives. The relevant literature documents various checklist for evaluating the usefulness and appropriateness of language textbooks. Miekley’s (2005) checklist is considered as an effective criterion for language textbook evaluation. This checklist is comprised of five categories analyzing the textbooks from teachers and learners’ perspectives. This study used this checklist to evaluate the textbook of "Mina". The main purpose of the study was to shed light on whether this newly designed textbook could meet the needs of the Persian language practitioners. Results showed that from the point of view of the teachers, the fourth indicator of the "texture" theme is only significant (sig <0.05). The results also indicate that for the other 9 main indicators, they are not significant and in optimal condition. These findings could bring insightful understandings for Persian language teachers and may help them to fix its shortcomings in classrooms with other teaching materials.

In the process of teaching and learning, the textbook plays a central role alongside the other constituents of the didactic triangle (teacher, student). Given the importance of this subject and the lack of a comprehensive textbook for the “Introduction to Translation” course for undergraduate French language and literature, in this article, a framework for compiling an academic textbook has been offered. By referring to the works related to compiling academic textbooks and based on an applied research and a field study, this goal was achieved. During the field study, two data collection tools were used: a semi-structured interview with 14 professors teaching this course in Iranian universities and 149 student’s translations of simple texts from French to Persian. A criterion purposive sampling was conducted and the data were analyzed according to the qualitative method with the techniques of content analysis and error analysis. On the one hand, the characteristics of an optimal textbook and the texts that can be used in it were extracted through the interview. On the other hand, the most frequent errors in students' translations have been explored, which form the basis of the language needs of the students in this book.

One of the fundamental tasks of the Organization for Researching and Composing University textbooks in Humanities (SAMT) is Authorship and official translation of basic reference source, however, reviewing the evidence have shown there is a significant research gap in its published work of educational science (not as the individual book) despite three decades of its life. The present study aims to examine this gap by employing content analysis. The statistical population comprised all the SAMT published books of educational science before 2016 that 33 books have chosen by subjective sampling. The text-books review checklist of the council of humanities literature review and planning was our research tool. Every book has reviewed critically by two expert faculty members who also completed the given checklist. This study, in general, demonstrated that at least 70 percent of experts believed SAMT’s books in educational science are well-organized in respect of resources accredit index, accurate referencing, trusteeship, objectivity, clear writing, fluency, precise equivalent, logical order of every chapter, and the whole text as well as typography, layout, and binding. Therefore, these indexes could consider as the strengths of SAMT educational science publications. After all, results represented that 30 percent of these books were poor in terms of the updated resources index, content comprehensiveness, and analysis quality. This figure was even higher in the form index. According to the results, there have been suggestions for improving literature quality.

At the discretion of the approved curriculum by Iran’s Supreme Council of Programming of the then-Ministry of Culture and Higher Education (now officially known as Ministry of Science, Research, & Technology), students majoring in English translation at the MA level are allowed to translate a whole textbook as their thesis. The present research study aimed at developing a framework for evaluation of theses allocated to book translation in postgraduate English translation programs in Iranian universities. In so doing, through the Delphi procedure, the opinions and attitudes of ten Iranian translation experts were collected, categorized, revised, and finalized by their responses and feedback on a two-round questionnaire-based Delphi procedure. The research findings resulted in the development of a comprehensive instruction for evaluating translation theses in postgraduate English translation programs in the Iranian context. The framework may hopefully do justice in helping the examiners have a fairer evaluation in a systematic unified way.

Objective: The need to identify the characteristics of the academic textbook and the unavailability of explicit criteria for the compilation of academic textbooks led to a study to identify the characteristics of textbook in order to develop a model with a qualitative meta-analysis approach.<br /><br />Method: A qualitative meta-analysis and tool from Sandlowski & Barroso seven-step model were used, only articles in domestic scientific journals and international conferences (1380-1399) and foreign (1989-2020) in the field of books were used. University courses written, reviewed. The study population is 150 sources including articles, books and dissertations, which according to the criterion of relevance of 56 sources were selected in a targeted manner until achieving information saturation. The Kappa index has been used to control the quality of the qualitative hybrid method. Maxqda software was used for coding.<br />Results: Based on result of Cohen's kappa test, value of the index was calculated to be 0.638, with valid agreement level. the model is presented from two quality levels of 4 concepts (appearance, structure, content and writing) and function, which are important components; 8 concepts (information, evolutionary, systematic, regulatory, self-learning, educational, integration and coordination) are composed. <br /><br />Conclusion: categories and concepts of textbook were reviewed and academic textbook model was developed. The model of the present study is different from other models in order to further integrate the features of textbook and design clearly and eliminate the shortcomings of the previous models. New textbook design template helps professors, students and authors to select, study and write textbooks.

In recent years, educational data mining has been very popular in the field of higher education due to the large amount of data and the difficulty of analyzing the results. Summarizing teachers' opinions about textbooks is also one of the main challenges in deciding whether or not to reprint books. This study intends to evaluate the professional ethics textbook written for centralized exam students by using a semi-automatic text extraction method. In this article, the results of the completed questionnaire of the professional ethics Textbook have been analyzed by 47 instructors of this course, regarding the descriptive question about printing / non-reprinting using text mining technique.<br />This research has been used using "Farsiyar" text mining software and Python coding, as well as methods of extracting text keywords, automatic text summarization, thematic modeling (identifying collection of texts) and finally drawing meta-words to analyze the submitted comments.<br />Findings indicate that the topic modeling method used to identify the topics of the text collection and the method of drawing meta-words that provided a visual form of textual comments were more appropriate than other methods in this study. Reprinting is recommended by rewriting and re-editing this book.

The importance of productive language skills is underscored in traditional and modern approaches in second and foreign language teaching. Writing skills, due to dependency on language proficiency and competence and mere adherence to syntactic and grammatical accuracy and rhetorical conventions, enjoys a double importance. Literature review has shown that Arabic writing, owing to its inherent intricacies, has created numerous educational problems for learners. Considering the deficiencies inherent in traditional approaches on one hand and research gap on theory and practice of Arabic education on the other, the current research has adopted a new theoretical framework to investigate the effect of three different corrective strategies on learning Arabic writing of advanced learners. To this aim, 28 learners in an academic center were selected through convenient sampling. After removing outliers, the participants were randomly attributed to three different experimental groups-Metalinguistic, Elicitation and Recast. Then, adopting a quasi-experimental method (pre-test/intervention/posttest), the researcher investigated the performance of learners on writing tests before and after intervention. The data were collected and analyzed through one way analysis of variance in SPSS. Research findings showed that all three experimental group outperformed in in writing tests after intervention. However, a post hoc Tukey test showed that only metalinguistic group has brought about a meaningful change among mean scores. The results were discussed and educational and research implications were suggested.

The issue of translating the Holy Quran is one of the discussions in the field of Quran research which especially in the last century has faced many ambiguities and questions such as the possibility of translating the quran, Permission to translate the Quran, the principles and conditions of the translation of the quran and the basics of translation of the quran, In some cases, it has led to controversy, burning and shredding translation and the issuance of an apostasy sentence for translators and believers in translation. The book "Critical Analysis of Translating the Holy Quran" by Dr. Sohrab Morovati has been written with the aim of answering these kinds of questions and ambiguities. According to the author, this is the first source in Persian and has answered all the questions in a documented and reasoned manner. therefore, the author of this article intends to examine and critique the mentioned work with the aim of explaining its strengths and weaknesses in this way and to introduce it to the reader of the work. The research has been done with a descriptive-analytical approach, in a documentary method and based on common principles and methods in criticizing written sources.

A critical look at human scientific and intellectual achievements has played an important role in the development of empirical knowledge in the new era. But if the critical view leads to the denial of truth and reality, it finds a dogmatic nature that contradicts the nature of criticism and destroys trust in knowledge and reason. Ashtray by focusing on the views of Thomas Kuhn, shows that Kuhn is on such a path in his work. In this book, Morris, in addition to criticizing the content of relativism in Kuhn's work, also pays attention to the psychological and social consequences of denying reality. His ultimate goal is to show that relativists, by relying on ambiguous language and misconceptions of empirical knowledge, not only destroy the common human logic that is the rational basis of the experimental sciences, but also destroy moral principles. They justify continuity of war and killing. In contrast to relativism, he defends a kind of moderate realism that is equally distant from relativism and dogmatism, and builds trust in science with the possibility of critique. In his documentaries, Morris often critiques the prevailing worldview and seeks the truth. The philosophical point of view defended by him in this book is also in line with the common theme of these films.

“Intellectual Property Rights” is the privilege granted to the author by copyright regulations. The purpose of this privilege is to protect the creators’ relationship with their works and allow them to benefit from the outcome of their efforts both tangibly (economically) and intangibly (ethically). By the same token, the aim behind these rights is also to protect the personality, time, effort, and creativity of the creator. The status of such rights in the two legal systems “Civil Law” and “Common Law” is different and has been identified under the title “Authors’ Rights” and “Copyright”, respectively. One of the common problems in most scientific societies is the lack of distinction between the two and assuming them to be the same. While explaining the legal systems of Authors’ Rights and Copyright, this research work - by examining the theories and regulations of the countries subject to the Civil Law and Common Law legal systems - shows that although these systems have similarities in some matters, they differ from each other in essence. The intellectual approach to the Authors’ Rights emphasizes the strengthening of “Private Property” while Copyright focuses on “Public Property and Interest”. Both Authors’ Rights and Copyright systems have been developed to support creators and publishers, but in this case, the Copyright System has failed to satisfy its addressees due to certain obvious weaknesses. The Authors’ Rights System is, however, more efficient and covers various aspects of the rights of its users, and as a result, there has been a tendency in many countries with Copyright Systems to turn to the Authors’ Right System.

The present paper tries to review the The Prosodic Struture of the Persian Language: Lexical Stress and intonation and by introducing its content and revealing the authors original and scientific findings in the book, reminds some points that have not been paid enough attention by author. The goal behind the book is the phonetics of Persian prosodic system in which the author investigates the categorical elements of the prosodic system in a quantitative way. The author considers the intonational elements as qualities that have function in language; then he explains the phonetic properties of these elements in different phonetic contexts. The author brings together the articulatory phonetics, acoustic phonetics and auditory phonetics in order to explain the intonation system of Persian and this is one of the noticeable features of the book and for this reason he has put forward and solved lots of problems and also raised questions that each of them requires separate research.
