The objective of the present research is to critique the book "Global Politics Reader: Themes, Actors, and Issues" as a significant academic resource in the field of political science and international relations. This book examines key challenges and developments in international politics and features articles by prominent authors such as Joseph Nye, G. John Ikenberry, and James Petras. The author and editor, Ali Abootalebi, aims to provide a deeper understanding of global relations and their impacts on individuals' daily lives through the compilation of these articles. The critique employs a critical analysis methodology alongside Mansourian's ten indicators. The authors' use of tables, charts, and images to elucidate the content, along with the incorporation of credible and sufficient sources, addressing core issues of global politics, and the clarity and fluency of the writing style contribute to the book's notable academic significance. However, the book also faces shortcomings, including a lack of depth in analysis in certain articles, insufficient attention to important details, and the neglect of contemporary topics such as artificial intelligence, non-state actors, and their implications for global politics. Furthermore, the selected articles lack clearly defined research questions and hypotheses, which could undermine the scholarly richness of the work. These critiques underscore the need for a revision of the book's content and the inclusion of new discussions that would enhance understanding of complex global dynamics. Ultimately, this book can serve as a valuable resource for educators and students in the field of global politics.
