ارزیابی نسل نوین کتاب های آموزش زبان با اهداف تخصصی «سمت»: دیدگاه گروه های ذینفع در سطوح کلان، میانی وخُرد

چکیده

نیازسنجی از ارکان اساسی هر دورۀ آموزشی است و یافته‌های آن نقش غیر‌قابل-انکاری را در شکل‌گیری دوره و تمامی اجزای آن دارد.نیازسنجی محدود به قبل از راه-اندازی دوره‌های آموزشی نیست و می‌تواند در طول و یا پس از پایان دوره نیز مثمرثمر باشد و اطلاعات لازم را برای ارزیابی، بازبینی و به-روز‌رسانی آن فراهم آورد. از این رو، پژوهش حاضر، بر آن بود تا نظرات گروه‌های ذینفع در سطوح کلان، میانی و خُرد را در ارتباط با نسل نوین محتوای آموزشی دوره‌های آموزش زبان با اهداف تخصصی سمت، مورد ارزیابی قرار دهد و به بررسی تفاوت‌های احتمالی این نسل از کتاب‌ها با کتاب‌های قدیمی‌تر این سازمان بپردازد. در این پژوهش، از روش تحقیق کیفی- ترتیبی استفاده شد. با بهره‌گیری از مصاحبه‌های کیفی نیمه‌ساختارمند مبتنی بر چارچوب نظری بالدف و کپلان (2005)، دیدگاه رئیس پژوهشکده، مدیر پژوهش وارزیابی، مدیر پیشین پژوهش وارزیابی، مدیر و ارزیابان گروه تخصصی آموزش زبان با اهداف تخصصی، اساتید و دانشجویان در ارتباط با کتاب‌های نسل نوین آموزش زبان با اهداف تخصصی سمت مورد ارزیابی قرار گرفت و نتایج آن با بهره-گیری از تحلیل محتوا به‌صورت کیفی گزارش شد. یافته‌های این پژوهش حاکی از آن است که علیرغم تفاوت و گاه تناقض دیدگاه ذینفعان در سطوح مختلف راجع به جنبه‌های مختلف این نسل از کتاب‌ها، تغییرات قابل توجه و مثبتی در زمینۀ نیازسنجی، انتخاب متون و شیوۀ ارائه و تمرین مهارت‌های خواندن، واژگان، دستور زبان و ترجمه نسبت به کتاب‌های نسل‌های پیشین صورت گرفته است. در پایان، به اشارات نظری و عملی این پژوهش پرداخته شده است.

Needs Analysis, the beating heart of English for Specific Purposes (ESP), is one of the indispensable components of any educational program the findings of which play a pivotal role in shaping the program and its other components. Furthermore, the results of Needs Analysis can inform not only curriculum development but also curriculum evaluation and renewal. Accordingly, the present study, as a part of a larger study, attempted to investigate the perceptions of macro, meso, and micro level stakeholders regarding the new generation of SAMT ESP textbooks and highlight any possible differences between these books and those of the older generations. Employing a sequential qualitative design and building on Baldauf and Kaplan’s (2005) language-in-education-planning framework, this study carried out semi-strictured interviews to shed light on the perceptions of the Director of the Research Department, the Manager of the Research and Evaluation Department, the former Manager of the Research and Evaluation Department, the Manager of the ESP Department, the reviewers of the ESP Department, and some university instructors and students. Content analysis was employed to analyze the data. The results revealed that despite having some differing, and at times contradicting, perceptions regarding different aspects of the new generation of ESP textbooks, the stakeholders at all three levels held that the books were substantially improved in terms of needs analysis, text selection, presenting and practicing reading skills, and vocabulary, grammar, and translation activites. Finally, the theoretical and practical implications of the study are discussed.
